Heading to the Bradford Classic this weekend? Here’s our guide to the best places to eat and drink nearby.
The Bradford Classic 2019 looks set to be the biggest and best show yet. The popular classic car show, now in its 15th year has more cars and more events than ever before.
Highlights include a screening of the Italian Job at The Light Cinema on the opening night (Friday 16th August), and Classics on the Broadway, A collection of modern and classic racing cars from a wide range of motorsport disciplines.
On Saturday 130 cars from around the world will be on view in City Park.

Just over the road in Sunbridge Wells, Bears Den serve up the very best local charcuterie and cheese boards, grilled cheese sandwiches their own ‘bear’ style seasonal bruschetta toast. Their ingredients are sourced from independent Bradford suppliers where possible, many of them in the city’s bustling Oastler market and St James’ trade market. They have an awesome beer selection too!

Terence and the team have trained hard and travelled far in the name of artisan bread, and it shows in the product, which is fresh authentic proper bread and patisserie. Sandwiches are made to order and you can enjoy a range of freshly prepared daily specials.
Conveniently located in City Park, Cake’ole offer a wide selection of cakes and treats not to be found anywhere else, all nicely wrapped in a setting as unique as their menu. While cake is their passion, The Cake’ole is well known for excellent afternoon teas and a wide range of loose leaf teas, crazy drinks and extensive range of milkshakes.
Plant One on Me is a unique house plant shop and tea room based near the entrance to Sunbridge Wells on Upper Millergate. You can enjoy a selection of hot drinks and cake, with a range of teas and traditional fresh press coffee on offer. Especially enjoyable sat in the calming plant-filled environment listening to music from their vintage vinyl collection.
Located in the National Science and Media Museum, the Media Café is a great place to stop and re-charge your batteries. There’s an extensive menu including handmade pizzas, jacket potatoes, soups, deli sandwiches and salads plus delicious homemade cakes and kids’ meal deals.
Located on the ground floor of the newly refurbished St George’s Hall, The Café is the perfect place to enjoy a hot drink and cake, whilst relaxing in the comfortable and stylish surroundings which celebrate the venue’s rich heritage.
The Midland Hotel offers afternoon tea which includes a selection of traditional sandwiches, delicious scones with jam, clotted cream and strawberries and a selection of cakes. Prosecco can also be added for special occasions.
